Why Disclave Mattered

Disclave shows the importance of regional conventions. Not every important fan event is Worldcon; long-running regional conventions build local continuity and community memory.

WSFA Context

WSFA, founded in 1947, supplied the club infrastructure behind Disclave and later Capclave.

Legacy

After Disclave ended, WSFA eventually created Capclave, showing how fan institutions can end, pause, rethink, and continue in a new form.
